I am a history education major, so naturally I though that history would be one of my favorite classes in college. But, my history professor wasn’t at all like I had expected him to be. His syllabus was not detailed at all so every day the people in my class including me would ask questions about it. He never answered our questions and he would yell at us for asking and make us feel stupid. This made people afraid to ask questions or participate in class, so one day I offered my opinion on something he was talking about and he told me my opinion was wrong.
I knew I couldn’t stay in this kind of environment; he was slowly turning me off from history. I dropped the class. Since I am a history major, I wasn’t going to just not take history this semester. I went to Engelmann and looked at one of their maps and found the history department. I went in and told the secretary how I had had a problem with my class and I wasn’t sure what to do, so she helped me set up a day to meet with the head of the history department. In my meeting I told Dr.Judd about the problems I had and he recommended a different history class to me.
We all know that in college we have to fend for ourselves and take care of things, so I did. Everyone here is really nice and here to help us, so why not take full advantage of it. We are paying tons of money on this education so we deserve the best experience we can get. It’s very easy to get help from your majors department, if you have any questions about it, comment and hopefully I’ll be able to help!

Good for you! I am so impressed that you were able to go in and request a different teacher instead of putting up with a negative learning experience. Sometimes the teacher just isn't the right fit, but instead of just being passive, you went and did something about it!
