Last night I got really stressed out because I was trying to make a schedule for next semester and I was having trouble fitting the classes and professors I wanted with the times I needed. I wanted to have three different schedules to choose from since we as freshman get last pick. I am not sure what I want my major to be; I might be changing it from history to something else so I am pressing to fill my schedule up with a ton of history. This way if I like it and enjoy it I know I can keep it and be happy.
This was all happening up in my room which was cold and quite since I was the only one on that floor of the house. I decided that being stressed out about the whole thing wasn’t going to make creating a schedule any easier. I know that if you want to get through something successfully and less painfully, you have to make it enjoyable.
So, I went down stairs to sit by the fire my brothers had made and abandoned, I brought my lap top and course book with me and I listened to some quite Christmas music. I am weird and Christmas music always calms me down and makes me happy. Basically because it gives me that feeling of the spirit of Christmas, were everything is pretty and joyful. (To sum it up quickly) if you can find a type of music that calms you down, keep it handy at all times!
I sat by that fire for an hour and a half and came up with two schedules that fit in all the classes I want to take. Every time I got stressed out I just put my lap top down and looked at the fire. Between the warmth and the smell of the fire and the music and background noises of my family, I calmed down and my stress seemed to melt away. I find that when people are stressed it is usually because they are thinking too much and they tend to make things really complicated in their minds. If you revert back to simple basics and give yourself a calm environment, your head will clear and your stress will go away.

I love the title! I completely agree with you about making the situation enjoyable. This is probably something I would do!
