Intrinsic, extrinsic be motivated and just do it. I have to admit that the marshmallow video we watched got to me. It stuck out in my head and got me interested in the topic of motivation. I thought about it and realized that I cannot pin point the reason that I am here in college. Is it because I think it’s the rite thing to do, or because I want to do well in life, what’s making me stay here?
Thus I decided to do my project on Motivation. My thinking being that if I found out what other people think about motivation I might have a better chance of realizing what motivates me. So I came up with three questions.
1. Which type of motivation do you believe works best in general, in the world?
Intrinsic- Self motivation
Extrinsic- Being motivated by an outside source/the things and people around you
2. Do you believe that it is different for different age groups? Ex. Do you think that it is easier for a child to have outside motivation and an adult to have intrinsic motivation?
3. Do you believe different types of motivation are better for different situations? Ex. What do you think works best in the work force, in schools, or when you are just hanging out with friends or chilling by yourself.
So far I have interviewed one professor, one C.C. and about six students. I have footage of some of them and others I just took notes from. Please feel free to respond to my questions!
