I blog twice a week, because my Inquiry class requires me to, I also comment on other peoples blogs once a week becauseit is another requirement of the class. I usually look through the list of blogs onProfessor Guarinos blog and click on the ones that I think have cool names. I don’t really pay attention to whether or not the students are in my class or not anymore because I figure that the students from her other classes are doing the same thing and wont mind if I comment.
I tend to pick posts that have cool pictures in them because they tent to catch more of my attention and hold it. Instead of just reading paragraphs about whatever, I get to look at pictures and sometimes read comics. Sometimes these pictures even make me think more about the post than I would have without them there.
This week I commented on Jacobs most recent post, it’s an example of a good one. He has aninteresting name for his blog, and cute comics. They kept me interested through out, he talks about procrastination, something we all know we do at some point or another. (Especially if you are distracted easily like me) It’s a good post because it draws you in with the pictures and title, and it’s a topic we all can relate to.
In general I think that a good post draws the reader in, keeps them there and covers an interesting topic. I also find it more fun to read themwhen they aren’t written in a professional way. When it is written more like a conversation I tend to enjoy it more. All of the reading we do in college is just plain annoying, that is why I like blogs that are interesting and personable. So keep them original, keep them entertaining and make them all your own!
